The Story Of Le Griddle
The Le Griddle Story, From France to Texas
I’m Remy Lampaert, creator of Le Griddle. What started as my personal search for the perfect griddle became an international brand. Hard work, resilience, and incredible people—especially in Texas built this American dream :
2005
I bought my first griddle. It rusted. I bought another one. It didn’t rust—but it didn’t perform.
As a passionate cook, I was searching for powerful, even heat, perfect searing on thick cuts, easy cleaning, and absolute gas safety. It didn’t exist.
2006–2010
So I built for myself. After years of testing and refinement, I developed the Dual Plate System: a stainless steel cooking surface bonded to a cast-iron core for exceptional heat stability and performance. It delivered exactly what I had been looking for.
2010
A friend from Austin, Texas, discovered my griddle while visiting France and told me, “You need to bring this to America.” That moment launched the adventure.
2013
The first 30’’ two-burner model went into production. I began prospecting the U.S. market—late-night calls across time zones, cross-country road trips, trade shows, and live demonstrations. The beginnings were challenging, but I believed in the product.
2014
After competing—and having an unforgettable time—at the World BBQ Championship in Kansas City, Le Griddle took a major step forward. We exhibited at HPBExpo in Salt Lake City for the first time, where the product generated strong interest. We began delivering to our first U.S. resellers.
2016
A major turning point came when a key Texas distributor decided to carry Le Griddle. From there, growth accelerated across the United States.
2017–2019
The range expanded with new models—from the compact single-burner format to large three-burner units, lids, liners, and carts—while also introducing high-performance electric versions. Dozens of trips, miles on the road to visit dealers, hundreds of demos, sales gained strong momentum, growing from a handful of units… to pallets… and eventually to full containers.
2020
Covid brought production and shipping to a halt for months. It was a difficult period, but the sign that improvement of the manufacturing process is also necessary by moving to the US.
2023
Le Griddle became Made in Texas, combining French innovation with American manufacturing strength, quality, and service.
2026
Everything is bigger in Texas: Building on our multi-layer plate expertise, we launched the Triple Plate – Texas Sea Glass Finish, new Commercial and Pro Series lines, and 16 accessories—raising standards once again.
A special thanks to my friends Kris, Gilles, and Jeff. The Lord placed you on my path for this success.
